The three-year residency programme involves working as part of the neurology team at Fitzpatrick Referrals to provide the highest standard of care to our patients and clients. The resident will have the opportunity to learn and partake in some of the world’s most innovative and advanced neurosurgical procedures, some of which are unique to our hospital. As the neurology resident, you will partake in the small animal neurology referral service, including contributing to the out-of-hours emergency service.
PhD DipACVIM(Neurology) DipECVN SFHEA MRCVS) as well as our two neurology registrars; The neurology team is supported by two neurology interns and a neurology nurse. The facilities include 1.5T MRI, 160 slice CT, electrophysiology, onsite 3D printer and off-site custom implant design services.
The residency programme will also involve completing rotations and placements at other veterinary practices, hospitals and facilities to meet the requirements of the ECVN.
Applicants must have completed at least one internship; a neurology internship would be preferable, but a rotating internship that included a neurology rotation would also be beneficial. Excellent command of the English language is mandatory.
