Interviews are planned to be held,31st May 2024.nThe London Taught Course Centre (LTCC) was formed tofoster the training of doctoral research students in the MathematicalSciences. Its courses cover the areas of Statistics, Applied and PureMathematics, with the goals of providing students with an overview ofthese areas and acquiring a working knowledge of classical results andrecent developments in their broad research fields but outside thespecialised domains of their research projects. There is a wide rangeof expertise among the staff of the institutions currently in the LTCCconsortium: UCL, Queen Mary, Imperial College (Statistics), King'sCollege, LSE, City, Kent, Brunel, Royal Holloway, and The OpenUniversity. The role requires interaction with many people at alllevels, a professional attitude, a willingness to help, and an abilityto remain tactful and assertive, which are necessary to execute therole adequately. Building effective and positive working relationshipsis essential. Main Purpose of the job The LTCC Centre Administratorassists the Directors with the day-to-day running of the Centre,administers the budget, and ensures that all payments on the projectare processed and correct and that the fund is wellspent. The CentreAdministrator also arranges the course and exam timetables andadministers all exams. The LTCC exams are administrated independentlyfrom UCL. The Centre Administrator has a crucial role in liaising withpartner universities, including lecturers, graduate students, andstaff of the Department of Mathematics, to ensure the smooth runningof the Centre. The Administrator is also responsible for maintainingthe Centre's website, taking minutes of Centre meetings, and allgeneral administrative duties.nAbout you

A successfulcandidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above(Including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent or havingacquired relevant experience. They will have IT Training or provenattainment of such knowledge through experience of managing andmaintaining databases/spreadsheets. The successful candidate will haveexperience of budgeting, raising invoices and purchase orders. Thesuccessful candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills andthe ability to work confidently and diplomatically with people at alllevels, from prospective students to senior colleagues. They will alsohave a high level of literacy and excellent oral and writtencommunication skills and able to organise student-facing events and towork with students, academics, and support staff to achieve agreedgoals via these events. In addition, the successful candidate willhave the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with allcolleagues at different levels of the institution. Moreover, thesuccessful candidate will have the ability to prioritise workload andmanage competing deadlines successfully, asking for clarification anddirection appropriately and a high level of accuracy and attention todetail. The successful candidate will also work independently and useown initiative with minimal supervision and guidance, being able toreport upwards in a timely and effective manner. Furthermore, thesuccessful candidate will respond positively to changing priorities ina busy environment and take a proactive approach and the ability touse web publishing software to produce documents for the web. Thesuccessful candidate will also have good numeracy skills with theability to present and interpret statistics and the ability oforganising and servicing committees including taking minutes. Thesuccessful candidate will be enthusiastic and self-motivated andcommitment to delivering excellent service to students and colleagues.They will have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to acceptnew challenges and change. The successful candidate will also have acommitment to personal and professional development and a commitmentto the principles of EDI. An outstanding candidate will be educated toA level standard, or equivalent, or having acquired equivalentexperience. They will have experience with administrative work withinthe Higher Education sector, or similar and the ability to use webpublishing software to produce documents for web/Moodle in relation toteaching.
