Sunderland Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (SIMS) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our existing multidisciplinary team. SIMS is a true multidisciplinary team consisting of highly experienced clinicians including a Sports and Exercise Consultant, GPs with special interest in MSK, Extended Scope Practitioners, Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors. We are excited to be growing our current service in collaboration with Primary Care to ensure Physiotherapy input is at the forefront of managing patients with MSK related conditions across the Sunderland area. The successful candidate will form part of the core SIMS team and have job variety and a mixed caseload by operating across Primary and Community care. SIMS are dedicated to continuing professional development. We have an extensive in house training programme and strong direct links with secondary care colleagues who attend and contribute to our monthly CPD events. You would have access to an internal network of senior and specialist support including both Medical and Allied Health Professional (AHP) staff who provide leadership, educational, research and clinical support. We offer clinical supervision, coaching and mentoring and have team building and away days all to contribute to the development of SIMS staff. Main duties of the job

You would be working alongside a team of GPWSI, ESPs and Physiotherapists and developing working relationships with primary and secondary care colleagues.The candidate should have established MSK experience.

Work as an autonomous practitioner for patients with MSK conditions providing assessment, diagnosis and management within tier one and tier two of SIMS.

Use advanced clinical skills and reasoning to provide diagnostic and treatment to patients who present with simple and complex MSK conditions.

Work across Primary and Community services within SIMS ensuring an integrated care pathway for patients that meets their needs where appropriate.

Take an active role in developing effective communication between Primary care, secondary care services and other relevant care providers.

Provide support on MSK clinical and service development across SIMS, along with learning opportunities for the whole multi-disciplinary team including less experienced physiotherapists.

Assist with clinical audit within the service and contribute to the development of the service in conjunction with SIMS senior management team.

SIMS operates across Monday to Saturday including working one late night and alternative Saturday mornings.
