Software Architect, Lancashire (hybrid), £70,000 - 80,000

Are you a Software Architect / Tech Lead looking for an exciting challenge? Our client is on the lookout for a hands-on software leader to drive the technical direction of their web applications and lead a new software development team. This role is with a successful consumer services company who have a global reach.

The new Architect / tech Lead will play a pivotal role in overseeing the redesign and rebuild of the front-end and middleware infrastructure. Say goodbye to legacy technical debt and hello to a cutting-edge platform designed to empower the business for the future. You will work closely with the Product Owner to align technical solutions with business objectives while mentoring and guiding developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure applications.

Experience needed:

  • Proven track record as a Solution Architect, Tech Lead, or similar role.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or Trello.
  • Expertise in front-end development ( React & Next.js ) and back-end development ( Laravel & MySQL ).
  • Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and relational databases.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and DevOps practices , familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in line management and team development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the design and implementation of the technical architecture.
  • Collaborating with the Product Owner to translate business requirements into innovative technical solutions.
  • Providing hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the development team.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable code.
  • Conducting code reviews and offering constructive feedback.
  • Staying ahead of industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Managing and supporting the professional growth of team members (depending on experience).
  • Facilitating communication between developers and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
