Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Security Business Analyst with extensive experience in Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security protocols, risk management, and compliance requirements, with a particular focus on web application security. This role involves analysing security needs, developing strategic plans, and implementing WAF solutions to protect our digital assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Analysis and Risk Management:
Conduct comprehensive security assessments and risk analysis to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats to web applications.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define security requirements and develop robust security policies and procedures.
Web Application Firewall (WAF) Management:
Design, deploy, and manage WAF solutions to safeguard web applications against cyber threats.
Monitor and analyse WAF logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents.
Perform regular updates and tuning of WAF policies to adapt to evolving threats.
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Develop and implement strategic security plans that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Lead projects to integrate WAF solutions into the existing security infrastructure.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with IT, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure security measures are integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.
Communicate security risks and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations, such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation on security activities, incidents, and risk management efforts.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years focused on WAF management.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in configuring and managing WAF solutions (e.g., AWS WAF, Imperva, Akamai Kona Site Defender, F5 Advanced WAF).
Strong knowledge of web application security practices, including OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities.
Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud security, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools.
Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
