Department: Business Development
Reports To: Manager, Applications Engineering
This position will be responsible for the pre-sales activities of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) including conceptual design and proposal preparation.

BESS Designer will work closely with the applications and business development teams to help develop proposals for new storage project opportunities and provide technical support to respond to customer needs.

Pre-sales Design
Analyze RFP or other customer documentation to determine project scope and technical requirements.
Prepare conceptual design packages including single-line diagrams and layouts in AutoCAD for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects based on size models prepared by Applications Engineers.
Develop cable schedules and cost estimates based on conceptual layouts.
Work closely with sales staff, engineering and procurement to ensure complete and shared project understanding and priorities.
An excellent time manager with the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities.

Proficient in AutoCAD or related software.
~3+ years’ experience in system design of PV or BESS projects.
~ Solid understanding of regulatory standards in the UK and Europe related to energy storage and grid-interactive inverters.
~ Global perspective and awareness, and direct experience working across diverse cultures in a multinational company would be beneficial.


Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
