We are on the look out for a Senior / Principal Data Engineer to take a lead on our data engineering effort to help us scale our impact. We are just starting to build out our data infrastructure, so this is an amazing opportunity to set and execute on your vision. The role is 90% hands-on, and reports into our Head of Data. 

The team is a mix of London hybrid employees as well as remote international staff – we are open to remote candidates.

Defining and building overall data architecture – both internal, and for projects we carry out with governments and other partner organisations 
Support Head of Data and HR with talent search process 
Security and data quality: Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements, confirm safeguards are followed, address data quality issues 
Monitoring and governance: Define data contracts 
Define and build optimise pipelines, dashboards, frameworks, and systems to facilitate easier development of data artefacts 
ML engineering: support in building out our ML engineering practice, with a special focus on the data part of it (feature store, monitoring, production pipelines, data quality checks, etc) 
Roadmap and collaboration: support Head of Data and influence cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact

Experience with SQL, ETL, data modelling and at least one programming language (e.g. Python, C++, C#, Scala) 
~ Some deep experience with one or more of the following: data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, analytics engineering 
~ Some experience with AWS tech stack (lightsail, Glue, S3, EC2, lambda, Sagemaker, etc), 
Experience defining and implementing from scratch a data architecture using a modern data stack
