Are you friendly and like to chatting to people?
Are you interested in chatting to people about learning disabilities ?
Would you like to share your experiences in having a learning disability?
We are looking for volunteers with a learning disability, or parents of someone with a learning disability, to join the t he Wales Learning Disability Helpline team.
Volunteers will help at adhoc events and learning disability awareness sessions.
This could be supporting the trainer with welcoming people, helping with discussions and then when you feel confident enough introducing and leading on some activities too.
In this role you will help change people’s attitudes towards learning disability. Mencap wants to speak alongside people with a learning disability, rather than for them.
Ideally you will be able to travel independently, but this can be discussed when you apply. Agreed travel expenses will be paid.
