Graduate Opportunity - Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology Graduate Autism Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for recent psychology graduates or individuals with relevant experience to gain valuable hands-on experience working with students with autism and other special educational needs. You will work closely with experienced teachers and SEN professionals to provide tailored support and interventions that meet the individual needs of our students.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) in classroom.
Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies, under the guidance of teaching staff and SENCO.
Support students in accessing the curriculum, including adapting learning materials and providing additional explanations or assistance as needed.
Help students develop essential social skills, communication abilities, and emotional regulation techniques through structured interventions and support.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to monitor student progress, collect data, and contribute to the review and evaluation of support strategies.
Previous experience working or volunteering with children or young people, particularly those with autism, is highly desirable.
Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with individuals who may display challenging behaviors or require additional support.
Willingness to undergo relevant safeguarding checks, including an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
