Lead Electronics Design Engineer - Warwickshire - EV - £55k to £70k

As the Lead Electronics Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design and development of cutting-edge electronic systems for electric vehicles. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will spearhead the creation of next- electronic architectures, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency. Lead the design and development of electronic systems for electric vehicles, including power electronics, control systems, and embedded systems.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and system integration specialists, to define electronic system requirements and specifications.
Drive the architecture, design, and implementation of electronic hardware, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct detailed analysis, simulation, and testing of electronic circuits and components to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team.
Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and troubleshooting efforts to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project delivery.
Work closely with suppliers and external partners to source components, resolve technical challenges, and support the manufacturing and production of electronic systems.
Support validation and certification activities, including EMC/EMI testing, functional safety assessments, and regulatory compliance testing.
Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including schematics, PCB layouts, design specifications, and test plans.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
Proven track record of at least 7 years in electronics design, with a focus on hardware design and development.
Extensive experience in designing electronic systems for automotive or electric vehicle applications is highly desirable.
Proficiency in electronic design tools and software, such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar tools.
Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, including microcontrollers, FPGAs, power supplies, and sensors.
Hands-on experience with PCB layout design, signal integrity analysis, and EMC/EMI mitigation techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented approach to engineering challenges.
Familiarity with automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and regulatory requirements (e.g., EMC, EMI) is advantageous.
