Polypipe Building Products are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

To deliver category management, marketing and sales strategies which result in profitable growth in revenue in the Above Ground Plumbing markets for Polypipe Building Products. This role will be based from our Edlington site in Doncaster. DN12 1ES.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for management of the complete Above Ground Plumbing product proposition within Polypipe Building Products, driving revenue and profitability by product placement in both the B2B and B2C markets
  • Research and analyse data to inform and interpret market insights
  • Produce and own the Above Ground Plumbing business plan in line with the company’s overall business strategy
  • Management of Above Ground Plumbing products throughout their life cycle from product conception to withdrawal, designing exit strategies for unsuccessful and/or obsolete products
  • Continuously monitor market size, share, needs and requirements with full consideration of future technology / developments, competitor activity and the changing requirements of regulation and legislation
  • Responsible for market driven Above Ground Plumbing product innovation including new product development strategy in line with market demands / changes
  • Management of the introduction of new products through to commercialisation
  • Appreciate fully the needs & expectations of the customer and ensure that the offer matches those expectations to maximise revenue and profit within the category
  • Provide product SKU management and administration in the business
  • Develop and maintain pricing and margin policies for Above Ground Plumbing
  • Provide sales support in pursuit of revenue and profit growth including but not limited to the development of technical manuals, training materials, presentations and literature etc.
  • Calculate forecasts for product demand trends
  • Manage & track budget initiatives

Skills & Requirements:

  • Ideal, but not necessary for the role, qualified to degree level in marketing or business studies
  • Must have Category/Product management experience in the construction products sector
  • Direct experience of marketing, selling or installing Above Ground Plumbing and/or other products within the Polypipe Building Products Portfolio is desirable but again, not essential
  • Ability to think strategically and develop business plans that maximise revenue and profit for the business, providing excellent return on investment
  • Analytical skills & strong commercial acumen
  • Be good at developing and maintaining relationships with senior management within the business and distribution channel
  • Have an ability to assess and interpret data to identify trends and performance changes from complex data feeds
  • Likely to have a commercial bias but must be capable of understanding and communicating technical concepts whilst understanding how the commercial proposition drives sales and profitability
  • Passion for quality and a track record of continuous improvement
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics
  • Must be willing and able to travel and work away from home for short durations
