Finance Director Role:
We are hiring for a Finance Director to play a key leadership position.
OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
Our client is looking to recruit a best-in-class Finance Director where the successful candidate will need to be comfortable working ‘at pace’ in a role which will be both strategic and hands-on.
The role is key in ensuring the production and management of the financial reporting functions are conducted as efficiently as possible and on a timely basis and in accordance with statutory requirements.
The role will have overall responsibility for the finance team which consists of 7-9 staff, managing all aspects of the business’ finances and any private office interests of the founder.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY WILL INCLUDE:
- Lead and build successful teams, providing excellent people management skills and expertise in dealing and presenting at Executive and/or Board level.
- Ensure timely production of monthly management accounts, produce scenario analysis, KI and trend and variance analysis.
- Managing Group treasury function, including cashflow and FX risk management, external fund raising and management of covenants where appropriate.

- Ensure all tax compliance obligations are met.
- Drive operational efficiency whilst meeting top line growth objectives.
- Responsibility to ensure all company statutory and secretarial obligations are met, managing the annual audit and filing of accounts processes.
- Managing relationships with key external parties, including those for regulatory compliance where appropriate.
- Working with non-finance departments to ensure provision of information as and when required and to improve the understanding of performance measures and identify key areas of risk, opportunity & profit maximisation.
- Any other ad-hoc projects that may arise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with at least 8 years PQE commercial experience.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a creative or similar environment, and ability to work with both creative & non-creative individuals.
- You will be an experienced FD, who is straight talking and has a good stable CV, ideally Big 4/accountancy trained,
- Minimum of five years’ experience as an FD in an organisation with turnover of around the £100m mark
- Good acedmics with a humble professional attitude.
- Private Office experience.
- You need to be a really good accountant themselves, with some tax experience, and isn’t all about strategy, board reporting etc.
- Some experience in a creative environment sector would be good,.
- Some OMB experience would be excellent and if any family office experience even better.
- You need to be prepared to work in a fast-moving environment that requires the person to be flexible in the way they respond to issues as they arise.
- Organised and technically strong, with a track record of providing high quality, accurate information in a deadline driven financial environment.
- Good understanding of tax issues.
- Management skills and demonstrable record of managing teams and the motivation of teams.
- Advanced excel skills essential and experience of development of financial systems and processes to improve efficiency.
