This role is a full time role 37.We are looking for a qualified B8A PWP service lead to join our friendly team at locations across Berkshire - (Newbury, Reading, Wokingham, WAM (Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead), Bracknell and Slough)


We are a Talking Therapies service that leads on innovation, boasting a new preceptorship programme for our staff, allowing them to have a clear progression plan and develop in their career with us.


As a service lead the post holder will provide line management, project management and pathway leadership as appropriate. To manage and lead team/s providing Low Intensity Interventions, addressing both service and professional management on those aspects of the service where psychological and quality matters need addressing. To lead, develop, monitor and evaluate new or existing areas of service delivery, care and treatment and to be involved in the implementation of various interventions and training needs.
Providing low intensity or high intensity interventions using cognitive behavioural therapy for anxiety and depression
Lead on the development of the step 2 service under the direct guidance of the clinical service manager
Working closely with the step 3 team leads/clinical service leads and managers to build the interface between step 2 and 3 and ensure a seamless service for all clients.
Develop links and care pathways' for clients.
Lead the step 2 services and team members, managing the capacity within step 2 across West or East Berkshire.
Case management and line management responsibility for the Step 2 Co Ordinator's.

The post holder will be part of a Talking Therapies service and will be appropriately qualified to provide Talking Therapies approved Low Intensity interventions for a range of Anxiety and Depression related problems i.e. Post graduate certificate in evidence based psychological treatments (IAPT pathways
Please note this is now a standard requirement of all IAPT services)

Education/Qualifications/Training
Qualification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to post graduate PWP certificate level.
PWP Supervisor training

British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy
Continuous Professional Development
Clearly demonstrable significant increase in depth and breadth or knowledge in relation to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy theory and practice beyond the level of postgraduate diploma


Experience of PWP level assessment and treatment of clients in Primary Care Adult Mental Health
Experience of the application of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in different cultural contexts


Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS
Evidence of ability to develop and evaluate areas of care and treatment
Skills in providing advice to other professional and non-professional groups
Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health
Keyboard skills sufficient to enter data/write reports
Experience of strategic planning and leading clinical networks
Developing digital clinical programmes

Knowledge of the theory and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in specific difficult to treat groups (e.g. personality disorder, dual diagnoses, people with additional, disabilities etc.)


Ability to demonstrate an interest in working with adults with 'common' mental health needs
Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate, to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of regular exposure to highly emotive material and challenging behaviour
