The company’s products are sold through three sales channels; Direct to end user, via Authorised Dealers and as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supply chain sales. Founded in 1977, the company is based in Walsall in the West Midlands and employs approximately 40 staff. There are four functional departments; Finance and Human Resources, Production, Sales and Marketing and Design and Technical. Overall Statement of Job Purpose An established business in the design and manufacture of material handling attachments is seeking to strengthen its design and engineering department with an experienced design engineer. On offer, is the opportunity to join a company at an exciting time in a role where the person will be developing new and existing products into manufacture and influencing the development of the department. Skills, Experience and Qualifications (SEQ) Set Essential skills: * Capable IT skills. * Strong 3D Solid Modelling CAD skills (ideally Autodesk Inventor and Vault) FEA stress analysis and proven track record using associated PDM systems. * Experience in designing material handling attachments, Experience in design of attachments for Telehandlers and wheeled loaders would be highly advantageous. * Experienced in mechanical design, steel fabrication, machined parts and Hydraulics. Desirable skills: * Able to work as part of team or on own initiative. * Excellent communicator, able to communicate well with colleagues, customers and suppliers. * Confident to put forward ideas and able to provide technical and innovative solutions. * Robust problem solving skills. * Good organizational skills. Desirable experience Agricultural, Construction and/or Industrial materials handling industry. Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent - (ideally a degree)
  • A-level or equivalent Mathematics and/or Science
Specific Accountabilities
  • Maintain the drawing database.
  • Actively work with production on Factorymaster (monitor part numbers / dxfs and process ENCs)
  • Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation is completed on time
  • Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace
