Transport Assessor

Our Local Authority are currently looking for a Transport Assessor to join them on a temporary basis for 6 months.

Location – Leicester, LE3 (Hybrid Working Role)

Pay Rate - £12.69ph

Job purpose:

To assist in the assessment and delivery of safe, effective, efficient and legally compliant passenger transport services; including for service users with disabilities

Main Duties:

• To ensure that the services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire.
• To maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and colleagues within the team and across the service.
• To ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner as possible.
• Responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Council policies.
• To communicate assessment outcomes to parents / carers, schools, colleges and internal staff.
• Annual re-assessment of children’s continuing eligibility, particularly as they move from primary to secondary and secondary to FE/Sixth Form Colleges.
• And other duties.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in appropriate area plus experience in (C) below
• Experience or able to demonstrate ability in (C) and (D) below

• Use of MS Office applications
• Good analytical skills for interpreting reports
• Working to tight deadlines

D)

• Negotiation with / gathering information from internal and external bodies / partners
• Dealing with customers by telephone and in person including difficult conversations
• Working in a transport, assessment or procurement environment
• Risk assessment relating to Health and Safety
• Co-ordination and ensuring efficient organisation of transport or similar services
