The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources strives to maintain healthy populations of fish andwildlife across the state. The Wildlife Division of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is currently seeking a candidate to work withinthe Farm Bill Branch.
A GFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit)employee in a permanent position.
The candidate’s main role will be to provide technical assistance and conservation program to privatelandowners. In addition, staff will also provide wildlife technical support and planning at the NRCS AreaLevel.
The incumbent will work with KDFWR Programs, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as wellas other State and Federal partners to promote, coordinate, and implement wildlife conservation/managementacross the Commonwealth on private property.
Activities will include program promotion (workshops and one on one meetings), conservation planning,contract coordination, conservation plan modification, site assessment and reporting.
A knowledge of the conservation provisions of the Federal Farm Bill.
50-hour work week (with occasional overtime required)

Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a biological science, wildlife biology, fish and wildlife management, conservation biology, natural resources, environmental sciences, or related field. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification. Incumbents in this job title spend the majority of time outdoors performing duties.
