More about your role We are looking for an Asset and Investment Accountant to come and join our team based in Preston. As an Accountant for Assets & Investments, you will provide first class insights and reporting in relation to actual and expected performance of the Group's non-social housing. This involves understanding actual operational performance at scheme level with a strong focus on improving operating margin and financial appraisal of schemes using forward looking appraisals to forecast scheme performance that capture the impact of operational as well as strategic decisions such as investment or disposal of assets. You will prepare management accounts, business plans and reports that provide transparency around current and expected performance of non-social homes, over 4000 properties across the UK. This role is based from our office in Preston however the team have fully embraced hybrid working. Please note this is a fixed term position until February 2025. More about you You will have relevant accounting qualifications or QBE (CIMA/ACA or ACCA) with experience of accounting for actual performance including journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and contributing towards preparing forecasts and business plans. Ideally you will also have experience in developing, reviewing and updating detailed forecasts as well as financial appraisal models. On top of good technical accounting skills we are looking for a strong communicator and a confident team player, you will have the ability to engage with senior stakeholders within the business and build relationships.
