Aerospace Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Our client has an opportunity for a Senior Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. You will have opportunities to be hands-on with the aircraft the company modifies, and you will be able to see the output of yours and your teams work from concept to flight.Role: Senior Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Gloucester Airport, StavertonHours: Full time - hybrid - 3 days onsite 2 days remote however must be flexible.Management of the mechanical design engineering team in the production of part, assembly and installation drawings, in compliance with the Design Office Handbook (DOH) and relevant Certification Basis e.g. Supporting the development and growth of the mechanical design engineering team.Supporting the development and evolution of processes and procedures relating to mechanical designWhere approved by the Head of Airworthiness, be accountable for the checking and compliance verification of design data produced within the Design Organisation.Liaison with other Senior Engineering functions and external sub-contractors relating to mechanical/structural design aspects of the delivery.Focal point for the production and installation engineers in matters relating to mechanical/structural design.Creation of and contribution to customer facing design reviews throughout the design life-cycle.Management and execution of detailed aircraft surveys during quotation and delivery stages.EssentialHNC / HND / Degree in a relevant engineering subject.Previous experience working within an Aerospace Design Office as a Structures (Panel 3) check signatory and CVE or be able to evidence significant progress towards this.Proven record of creating conceptual structures / mechanical designs.Knowledge of, and the ability to select, appropriate mechanical/structural techniques and solutions for aerospace applications e.g. material selection, corrosion protection, fuselage hardpoint interfaces, cabin structures.Knowledge of current and future aerospace structural manufacturing processes.DesirableExperience leading people and/or projects in a complex engineering environmentExperience of the full design life cycle from conception to delivery of design packages.Understanding of ergonomics and associated design principles.Proficient user of Solid Works CAD (training can be provided).Our BenefitsPension Scheme - Company match contributions to 8%, 1% loyalty scheme + life assurance 4 x pensionable salary as part of scheme.Private Medical Insurance25 days annual leave + bank holidaysHoliday Trading (ability to buy and sell up to 5 days leave)Reservist in the armed forces receive 10 days special paid leaveEnhanced Company Sick PayEnhanced Maternity + Paternity PayPayment of professional feesEmployee Share SchemeCycle to Work SchemeElectric Vehicle SchemeEmployee shopping savings portalEmployee Ovation SchemeIf you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please apply immediatelyLine Up Aviation is a specialist aviation and aerospace recruitment company that has been operating all over the world for more than 30 years.
