Job Summary

The Visual Arts Producer will facilitate the development and delivery of an arts and engagement programme associated with specific geographical areas and communities within the London Borough of Hounslow.

Job Description

We are looking for a creative and dynamic Visual Arts Producer to join our team working in community settings throughout the borough of Hounslow.

You will be an experienced producer of visual arts exhibitions and events and be passionate about empowering people by giving them the skills, confidence and experience that enable them to develop and sustain an exciting programme of visual arts exhibitions. You will be highly organised, have the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, and be comfortable with autonomous working.

The role is part-time at 3 days/week

Job Requirements
  • Experience & specialist knowledge of Visual Arts in a community environment
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with community & public sector partners and other stakeholders
  • Experience of working with visual artists & designers
  • Experience of publicising & promoting small-scale arts events
  • Commitment to equality diversity & inclusion
  • Experience of work with culturally socially & economically diverse communities
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage groups of people effectively
  • Experience of planning & prioritising workload
  • Knowledge of monitoring & evaluation
  • Ability to represent the Consortium to external bodies
  • Work under pressure
  • English language and numeracy for publicity, monitoring, and reporting
  • Willingness to undertake training as identified
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety at Work
  • Visual arts degree and/or training
Job Responsibilities
  • Produce a high-quality visual arts exhibition and workshop programme
  • Develop a network of community exhibition spaces
  • Recruit and manage a curatorial panel, and identify training and skills development needs
  • Encourage and support the growth of talent, skills, opportunity and experience of local people and artists

Monitoring and evaluation

  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of all activities within the programme
