This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

  • You’ll be accountable for the integrity of end to end financial control outputs for the Asset Management business, working closely with Product Control on all aspects of the financial close
  • We’ll look to you to proactively establish and maintain strong working relationships with key customers and senior stakeholders, and the wider finance team
  • As a key member of our team, you’ll enjoy extensive collaboration and can expect great visibility for you and your work
What you'll do

As the Asset Management Financial Controller, you’ll support the board of our UK-based Authorised Fund Manager (AFM), which manages an ICVC with 16 UCITS sub-funds, distributed to 800,000 bank customers.

You’ll ensure the integrity of financial information and reporting for the AFM and the ICVC, overseeing the work of our third-party fund accountants while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies, and considering the adequacy and effectiveness of the associated control framework.

Through the course of your work, you’ll:

  • Provide support to the asset management legal entity committees and boards through regular board reporting, as well as attending and presenting to senior stakeholders, including directors
  • Hold accountability for the efficient and effective delivery of financial control outcomes to ensure compliance with the appropriate statutory, regulatory, corporate and professional standards and controls, supporting the asset management business in meeting its regulatory requirements
  • Be responsible for the control oversight of outsourced functions, collaborating with third parties, auditors and other stakeholders to make sure financial reports and fund valuations are completed accurately and to timetable
  • Lead and drive continuous improvement that supports the strategic direction and be responsible for the successful delivery of mandatory and strategic programmes that impact on the key financial reporting outputs
The skills you'll need

We're looking for a qualified accountant, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial control and fund accounting. You’ll have worked in a global context, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a changing environment.

We’ll also look to you to bring:

  • Knowledge and experience of UCITS funds
  • Strong technical fund accounting and financial reporting skills
  • Experience of working with and providing oversight of third-party suppliers
  • A commitment to continuous improvement activity
  • An astute eye for detail and exceptional problem solving capability
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate issues to senior management
  • The ability to deliver high quality outputs to tight deadlines
