We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Architect to join our clients Information Security Transformation Programme for an initial 6 month contractfocusing on Cloud Security and Security Architecture workstreams. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in security architecture, cloud security projects, and a passion for developing secure and innovative solutions.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop baseline security reference architectures for cloud services and related services.
  • Create secure build standards for containers, operating systems, and mobile device management.
  • Lead the definition of Security Design Patterns and Security Monitoring Frameworks for IoT devices.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineering to create Infrastructure as Code modules and automate deployment verification.
  • Define Cloud Security Controls Monitoring requirements and maintain the Cloud Security Framework.
  • Develop security architecture training materials and define strategies for application security testing.
  • Advise on and support the implementation of security testing tools and secure SDLC processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with cloud security architectures and enterprise security architecture principles.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and developing security reference architectures.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large-scale Enterprise IT environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of API security, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, mobile application architectures, and serverless workloads.
  • Understanding of security frameworks such as NIST CSF and CIS Benchmarks.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Azure Policy, or AWS Config.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications:
  • IoT security controls and implementation experience.
  • Experience translating security specifications into Infrastructure as Code.
  • Knowledge of developing a cloud security framework and shared responsibility model.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure SDLC, and application security testing.
  • Experience developing training content for secure development and security architecture.
  • Good knowledge of application security and experience with CI/CD pipeline tools.
Non-technical Skills & Experience:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose a range of solutions.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and engage stakeholders.
  • Experience producing security design artefacts and managing consultations and approvals.
  • Relevant professional qualifications/certifications (e.g., SABSA, CISSP, CISM, GIAC).
  • Access to cutting-edge technology and innovative projects.
