We have a fantastic opportunity for a creative and inspirational leader to join a highly successful department and engaging team at Pate’s as Head of PE.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic leader to ensure the provision of outstanding PE and Sport to all students. Providing leadership and management in your department, you will ensure that high-quality teaching is delivered.

You will be a dynamic, forward thinking, inspiring and energetic teacher, passionate about the value of PE within the curriculum and the part it plays in the wider life of the school. The role holder will have responsibility for all extra-curricular sport including organising our successful Saturday sport programme.

Your flexible and adaptable approach, energy and resilience and commitment to being part of the wider school community will support your success in this role.

As a Head of Department at Pate’s you will be responsible for providing leadership and management in your department in order to high-quality teaching is delivered, effective use of resources and improved standards of learning and achievement for all.

Ensure these align with and support the school’s overall strategic vision.

• Oversee and articulate the design of the curriculum content within the subject area, making sure it is delivered as planned.

• Effectively lead and manage the teachers in the department to secure the highest quality of teaching and learning.

• Have responsibility for all extra-curricular sport including organising our successful Saturday sport programme.

• Organising and overseeing Saturday sport, being present for the vast majority of Saturday fixtures.

• Liaise with other school teams as appropriate, including Pastoral, SEND, Exams and SLT, as well as with students and parents.

• Promote the welfare and safety of all pupils in the school in line with our safeguarding and child protection policies and as set out in the current version of KCSIE.

The role holder will be required to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in accordance with Pate’s' policies, ethos, aims and legislative requirements at all times.
