Provide specialist breadth and depth of skills and knowledge to deliver evidence based occupational therapy assessment and treatment to service users with complex learning disabilities
Provide consultancy and advice, and training to support primary and secondary health care professionals, social care providers and carers to enable them to better meet the health needs of service users
Research, develop and share current best practice to optimise the service users ability to engage with their environment in line with principles of social inclusion and / or recovery
Support the continuous practice development as a member of the leadership group in the occupational therapy workforce
The LDISS Team provide a specialist countywide service for people with a Learning disability whose challenging behaviour is causing significant impact on the individual and their family or the services supporting them.
The inpatient services provide specialist assessment and intervention on a short term basis for those who require additional support and whose needs cannot be managed within their home environment.
The qualification, training & experience requirements for the role are underlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Deliver highly specialist occupational therapy assessment, recommendations and short term interventions as part of a specialist multidisciplinary service.
Provide highly specialist Occupational Therapy assessments, recommendations and where appropriate short term intervention for people who face significant Occupational Performance and environmental challenges as detailed in relevant Integrated Care Pathway (ICP)
To provide training and support of primary and secondary health care professionals, social care providers and carers to enable them to better meet the occupational needs of service users
Instigate and actively contribute to all service user care planning and review meetings for your caseload
Substantial post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist working with people with complex learning disabilities.
Clinical experience within at least two of the following settings secure settings, rehabilitation settings, intensive care settings, acute care wards, community
Degree / Diploma in Occupational Therapy
Health Profession Council (HPC) Registration
