Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
Network Uptime and Performance : Ensure high availability and optimal performance of network systems, minimising downtime and ensuring rapid recovery from outages.
Security Management : Protect network infrastructure against cyber threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring adherence to security policies.
Compliance and Standards : Maintain compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, keeping detailed documentation and evidence.
Problem Resolution : Resolve network issues promptly and effectively, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Resource Management : Manage network resources efficiently, including hardware, software, and budget, ensuring effective utilisation and minimal waste.
Communication and Reporting : Provide clear and effective communication with management, team members, and stakeholders, delivering accurate and timely network status reports.

Duties:
Network Design and Planning: Develop scalable network architecture tailored to organizational needs.
Implementation and Configuration: Install and configure network equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls. Implement security measures to protect data and hardware.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure smooth operation and minimal downtime.
Security and Compliance: Implement and manage network security protocols to prevent unauthorized access. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and changes. Prepare performance reports for management review.
Collaboration and Support: Work with other IT team members and other departments to ensure network efficiency and integration. Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT employees.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in network engineering. Propose and implement improvements to existing network systems.

Skills and Experience Required:

Design scalable network architectures, configure routers, switches, and firewalls
Implement security protocols to protect data and hardware
Monitor network performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing maintenance.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, maintain detailed documentation, and collaborate with IT team members and other departments
Stay updated with the latest technologies, propose network improvements, and efficiently manage network resources
Strong communication and documentation skills are crucial for maintaining the reliability, security, and efficiency of the organization's network infrastructure.
