About Our Client

Our client is a well-respected public sector entity, responsible for regulating and overseeing a key facet of national infrastructure.

Job Description

  • Infrastructure Management : Oversee the Microsoft Azure cloud and on-premise server environments to ensure high performance. Tasks include administration, continuous monitoring, and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers to achieve optimal operation.
  • Server Administration : Conduct regular updates, patches, and management tasks for file servers and shares, ensuring systems are secure and up-to-date.
  • Microsoft 365 Support : Provide expert-level support for Microsoft 365 services, focusing on SharePoint and other M365 applications, especially in terms of configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Active Directory Management : Maintain and manage Active Directory in a hybrid environment, including both local AD and Azure AD, ensuring seamless identity and access management (IAM) across the organisation.
  • Project Leadership : Take on a leading role or act as a senior technical advisor in key IT projects, driving initiatives to successful completion.
  • Support and Troubleshooting : Handle advanced support requests, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide resolution in collaboration with vendors and service providers.
  • Vendor Management : Escalate issues effectively, managing vendor tickets through to resolution, and oversee purchasing processes within the IT budget.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT infrastructure management, with a focus on Microsoft Azure cloud services, on-premise servers, and the integration and support of Microsoft 365 applications. This role requires a proactive approach to system reliability, a commitment to excellence in support, and the capability to lead and support IT projects.

Requirements :
  • Technical Expertise : Proven experience in server management and virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), as well as extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based solutions.
  • Microsoft 365 : Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and IAM solutions, with a strong background in configuring and supporting these services.
  • Analytical Skills : Exceptional problem-solving abilities, with a focus on analytic and critical thinking to address IT challenges.
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with internal teams and interfacing with customers.
  • Independence and Teamwork : Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a broader IT team.
  • Security Clearance: Current SC Clearance / Current BPSS or lapsed SC with the intention to go through Clearance
