The Management Accountant will be responsible for assisting the FC, providing key financial data to aid the management team in decision making, supporting forecasting, budgeting, month-end accounts, BS reconciliations and audit. You will work collaboratively whilst challenging what we do daily to ensure we are always improving.

The position of Management Accountant has three clear purposes:

  1. To ensure the business reports accurate financial management information on a timely basis to the SLT, Group and external stakeholders.
  2. To take ownership of the integrity of the information within the general ledger, divisional reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  3. To assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of finance and reporting as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts – analysing costs and supporting information, journal preparation and posting, variance analysis, consolidation of both group companies’ results.
  • To enable accurate financial reporting – divisional and partner analysis, preparation of the management accounts reporting pack.
  • Quarterly Budgeting & Forecasting supporting the process across the business, including modelling, analysis, reporting and submission.
  • To maintain accurate and robust balance sheet reconciliations for both group companies.
  • To support the Financial Controller with all statutory reporting requirements including VAT and tax filings as well as annual Statutory accounts and the audit process.
  • Ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as required.
  • Establish and maintain fixed asset register.

  • Supporting the FC and FD with analysis, reporting and data as required.
  • Identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and measure business initiatives.

Skills and Experience:

  • Part qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ACA.
  • Bookkeeping / accounting experience required – the ability to process and review financial information, pre-empt questions regarding variance analysis etc. and proactively investigate.
  • Good working knowledge of VAT and Corporation Tax preferred.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Advanced Excel. Knowledge of ‘Xero accounting’ an advantage.
  • Strong organisation skills – able to prioritise and plan work load.
  • Ability to analyse data, interpret & relay information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to present variances and help improve business performance.
