At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.

The role is based in the North East, covering accounts in North, East and West Yorkshire as well as accounts into Northumberland. The ideal location would be near the A1(M) giving you the best possible links to travel through the territory.

We have significant market share in the territory across our AWC portfolio, meaning this role will be working with established customers and building on the work that's already been done. While we're market leaders in the geography, there's still lots of opportunity to win new business and grow further.

The team you will work with have vast clinical experience and knowledge of our portfolio and products. It could present an excellent opportunity for someone looking to move into the sector or take a step up into a role like this as the support and knowledge will be available. Ideally we would like someone who has sold to Health Care Professionals (HCPs)or worked to support HCPs in a clinical setting.

What will you be doing?

We're looking for a self-motivated, results driven individual to join our UK commercial team. This account manager will be working with our Wound Care products. The customer base will be split between acute and community nursing, with most customers being in the community. This role will be key to work with our customers ensuring that product availability meets their needs and the needs of the patient.

What does success look like?

Success in this role is simply based on revenue and customer relationships. We would like to see someone who can (now or in the near future) take strategic responsibility and ownership for the territory, work with our customers to deliver for our patients In turn, we expect such strategic relationships to maximise sales revenue across the geography this will likely impact on existing and new accounts to proactively drive growth.

Successful candidates would need the following:

  • Delivery of value-based business proposals to key target customers in defined accounts to meet in year sales revenue targets
  • Strong focussed account management of segmented 'Grow' & 'Maintain' accounts
  • Assess their territory and the relevant franchise market to identify emerging trends and movements within the market
