We are looking for an experienced IT & Digital Services Officer, with meticulous attention to detail andexcellent administrative and organisational skills. This is a high impact role which offers the successfulcandidate the opportunity of making a strong, significant, and positive impact in assisting ambitious plans toimprove existing services, add new features and extend digital vision and use across the organisation. Youshould have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, extract, organise, analyse, and understandlarge amounts of information. As a Digital & IT Officer you will play a pivotal role in in the DigitalServices Team empowering and providing peer support to staff and volunteers. You should have a good knowledge ofSharePoint Automation tools as well as a good understanding of Azure for Administering Microsoft CloudEnvironments.

About the Scottish Child Law Centre

We are a specialist hub protecting children’s rights in Scotland. We provide free legal advice about child law andchildren’s rights to promote equitable access to justice and specialist training which strengthens advocacy andsustainable support for the rights of the child. We also use evidence from our direct engagement and work withpartners to influence long term change for children.

Importantly, we are the only specialist hub for all ages of children and across all areas of child-related Scots’law. We are here for children, and those who care and support them, and all advice is provided by our qualifiedsolicitors.

Many more children and families are struggling with complex issues in the backdrop of increasing poverty, and demandfor our free legal advice has significantly increased. We also know from feedback that our specialist trainingis deeply valued in the current fast-moving children’s policy environment and as children’s rights areimplemented.

The Scottish Child Law Centre’s vision is for ‘All children growing up in Scotland to have their rights respected,protected and fulfilled.’ To support that vision and the growing need, we have recently produced acommunications strategy to raise our profile and further extend our reach, particularly targeting communitiesexperiencing a multiple breach of their rights.

About the Role

Are you an experienced communicator and passionate children’s rights advocate? If so, we’d love you to hear fromyou.

We are looking for a communications officer to drive forward the Scottish Child Law Centre’s communications and tofurther raise our external profile and demonstrate our impact.

Ideally, you will also have experience of children’s policy and/or have worked with children and young people. Publicaffairs experience would also be valuable.

We are a supportive, creative and dynamic team and this is a new part-time post.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Accountant. As a member of the Finance and Estates Team andreporting directly to the Head of Finance & Estates, you will be responsible for managing the financialfunction and team within VSS. You will provide financial management information to the Finance and EstatesManager for use at Board and Management meetings and will provide leadership to the Finance team in delivering ahigh quality and effective customer service. You will create and manage financial forecasting models andprocedures and contribute to the financial and estates strategy and plans, in line with VSS overall strategy.You will ensure that all accounting activity complies with regulations. You will work closely with members ofthe Corporate Leadership Team and will support business planning.

What you’ll need to be successful

We are looking for someone who will take ownership of, and ensure delivery of all accounting and financialactivities, including (but not limited to) monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, annual accounts andbudget forecasts, project costings and budgetary management, maintaining the fixed asset register and monitoringall VSS financial practices, ensuring a robust financial framework is in place and auditing requirements aremet. To contribute to business planning and modelling, performing the appropriate analysis to supportunderstanding of multiple aspects of business performance across a number of business platforms.

We would consider Hybrid working and applications to work part-time in this role, this can be discussed atinterview.

What is the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Co-ordinator , working 14 hours per week.

  • Thursdays 9-6pm
  • Saturdays 10-4pm

The successful candidate must have access to their own vehicle and willingness to travel off the islands on occasion(e.g. for training or development activities)

Primary location: Lerwick, however you will be expected to cover throughout the locality is required.

Reporting directly to a Locality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring, within your Service(s), that VSS’slocal service development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographical area(s). Servicedelivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers, you will be responsible for planningtheir deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims and witnesses ofcrime, our service users. Responsible for all aspects of a volunteer engagement with VSS at your services,including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoing performance management and support.Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuous learning takes place to monitorthat the outcomes of service users are being met.

What you’ll need to be successful

We are looking for someone who is experienced in a similar role and can evidence of continuing professionaldevelopment, effective leadership style, able to build confidence, motivate and improve performance. Analyticalskills, must be able to understand, collect, analyse, report and present data. The ability to challengestereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and bias. Good working knowledge of the voluntary/charity sector isrequired, as is a willingness to be flexible in working hours and able to travel as required.

This new role will manage the smooth deployment and ongoing operation of our new case management system. You willassist end-users with system usage, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and collaborate with technical teamsto enhance system functionality.

You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent, experience of working within IT projects or similar and beinginvolved or coordinating and leading training. Experience of D365, collaborating with cross-functional teams,project management experience, exceptional communication and IT skills are essential.
