We are currently seeking a Commercial Assistant for our client to work on a large construction project in Leiston, Suffolk.
This is a contract role to run to the end of December, but highly likely to be long term.


The Commercial Assistant, will support the Programme Delivery teams, in Civils, MEH (Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC), Client – Frameworks and Nuclear Island.


Were looking for both recent graduates with Commercial experience and experienced Commercial Assistants looking to develop their careers further.


Support the Commercial / Supply Chain Management Team
• Assessment and valuation of contractor's applications and the processing of payment certificates
• Assessment of daywork records and accounts
• Review contractor deliveries including attending valuation and progress review meetings, ensuring contractual deliverables are met
• Monitor and report on commercial aspects of the contract and/or project flagging issues at the earliest opportunity to the Commercial / Supply Chain Manager
• Provision of advice and information on contract change including proposed scope changes, recommending appropriate action and producing required documentation
• Preparation of commercial cost reports and progress measurement
• Compilation of supplier performance and lessons learnt reports
• Undertake final account reviews, settlements and reconciliations to facilitate project close out
• Administration of commercial management tools


We're looking for highly motivated and self-starting Commercial Assistant with a good knowledge of contracts, basic estimating, valuations, cost reporting and financial modelling. You'll also have a basic understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change/claim management.


Experience working within a commercial environment is essential.


This can be based in Suffolk or London with hybrid working arrangements.
