We help reduce risk and vulnerabilities from cyber-attacks by developing a security road-map tailored to your unique needs. We help organisations improve processes such as threat management by building an identity management programme, and establishing prevention, detection and response capabilities to cyber-attacks.

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.

The Cyber Security Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Scoping new tests
  • Delivery of testing and the oversight of testers
  • Review of deliverables (QA)
  • Coaching and developing team members through sharing of experience and knowledge
  • Continuous development of self and team, including managing client feedback
  • Plan and create penetration methods, scripts and tests
  • Developing constructive client relationships, both inside and outside of Methods
  • Developing an understanding of Method's broader offerings to enable identification of business opportunities
  • Business development including contributing to proposals and participating in client presentations
  • Understand complex computer systems and technical cyber security terms
  • Present your findings, risks and conclusions to management and other relevant parties
  • Working within the Portfolio to ensure we can service our client needs
  • Commitment to continuously updating your technical knowledge base and CPD
Essential Skills and Experience:

You'll need to demonstrate or hold:

  • One of the following: OSCP, CREST, ECSA, CSTL or CSTM
  • Current SC clearance, or ability and willingness to achieve this.
  • >3 years of Security/Penetration Test Experience
  • Previous transferable experience in managing teams
  • A Passion for Cyber Security and new technology
  • Experience implementing security into CI/CD pipelines
  • Testing Physical, Cloud, Web, Mobile and Embedded & IoT systems
  • A sound working knowledge of common commercial and open-source vulnerability assessment tools and techniques
  • Strong technical diagnostic skills, with excellent numerate and analytical skills
  • Ability to simplify technical results of testing to a non-technical audience
  • A drive to discover and operationalise new tools and techniques
  • Previous experience in Red team exercises
  • Ability to train colleagues and clients
  • Experience in other areas of Information Security
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to penetrate security systems
  • The ability to think laterally and 'outside the box'
  • Teamwork skills, to support colleagues and share techniques
Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of evolving digital technology/applications eg AI/Digital twins
  • Knowledge of principles, practices, tools and techniques of IT auditing
  • Ability to work confidently across multiple service lines such as SOC, GRC, Architecture, Compliance when needed
