Senior Care Assistant

Responsibilities:
– Provide personal care and support to elderly individuals in their homes or care facilities
– Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
– Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
– Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
– Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting and transferring techniques
– Plan and prepare nutritious meals for clients based on their dietary needs and preferences
– Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and tidying up
– Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
– Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and healthcare professionals

Experience:
– Previous experience as a Care Assistant or similar role is required
– Knowledge of elderly care practices and techniques
– Familiarity with common medical conditions affecting the elderly population
– Ability to provide emotional support and empathy to clients and their families
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team

DUTIES OF A SENIOR CARE WORKER

– Ensure care plans are made for each client.

– Create a routine of overseeing and monitoring the care workers.

– Overlook carers and be responsible for the employees and clients whilst on duty.

– Assist with personal care such as dressing, undressing, and bathing.

– Create and serve meals and assist with feeding if necessary.

– Undertake light cleaning to ensure a safe and clean environment.

– Monitor clients’ conditions by checking their temperature, pulse, and

weight.

– Respond to emergencies and guide carers when needed.

– Make sure clients are comfortable and settled with their carers.

– Assist with day-to-day activities including paying bills, collecting benefits,

sending out emails, and collecting medication.

Job Types: Temp to perm, Permanent, Part-time, Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 60 months
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £10.75-£11.00 per hour
