To provide comprehensive support to the EHCPlan Co-ordinators, maintaining accurate, efficient and effectiveadministrative systems and records.
To provide effectiveadministrative support to enable the effective and efficientinitiation, assessment and review of children with Special EducationalNeeds, ensuring that procedures and timescales are fully compliantwith both statutory and locally derived procedures.
Support aperson centred, outcome focused multi agency approach to assessment,planning and review, ensuring that children, young people and parentsare treated as equal partners in the assessment and planningprocess.
Guiding settings and parents to the right provision atSEN Support level. Directing them to the Local Offer to find moreinformation on the services available.
Supporting settings andparents to provide the right information if an EHC needs assessmentrequest is made.
Relevant Experience
Experience in this areaof work gained by either education (degree or equivalent) or through aminimum of 3 years experience

Experience of working andliaising with parents, carers and other agencies in amulti-disciplinary setting

Experience of managingconflicting demands and priorities, working to tight timescales

Experience of producing reports for a variety of complex audiences

Experience of managing complaints and resolvingdisagreements.

Experience of chairing meetings

KeyKnowledge
Detailed Knowledge of legislation related to SpecialEducational Needs and other relevant legislation relation to childrenand young people with SEN.

Knowledge and understanding ofthe role of different agencies in this area of work in providingservices related to the statutory assessment procedure and meeting theeducational need of SEN pupils and young people.

Knowledgeof issues relating to support to pupils with SEN, which will enablethe post holder to resolve day to day operational issues.

Working knowledge of standard IT packages
