Job Role: Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Contract

Hours: Monday to Friday

Job Type: Contract Role

Interaction Technical have partnered with a global industrial and energy company on their search for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer on a temporary basis for their site based in Hirwaun, South Wales until September 2024. Hands-on commissioning of mechanical/process components and systems such as, fuel supply system, firefighting and fire protection systems, cooling, water systems and HVAC

· Carrying out and managing piping networks cleaning using various methods such as pigging, air blowing, flushing, etc.

· Carrying out testing on mechanical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols

· Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.

· Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.

· Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.

· Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors

· Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.

· Visual inspection of equipment/systems for correct and complete erection, adequate cleanliness, and safe access in consideration of related engineering documents, such as P&IDs, wiring diagrams, system descriptions etc.

· Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.

· Provide theoretical and practical training to customer personnel.

· Report to the Lead Process / Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Commissioning Manager, and the Head of Commissioning where necessary

Minimum 5 years experience within power station mechanical commissioning activities (essential)

· HND / HNC in Mechanical engineering (essential)

· Knowledge of mechanical regulations and construction industry standards (essential)

· Previous experience surrounding mechanical engineering with the construction industry (advantageous)

· Full UK Driving License
