Job Description

We are currently looking to appoint a Production Engineering Lead to provide strategic direction to a team of production engineers, overseeing the planning, development, and execution of ship construction projects. The appointed person will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, quality, and timely completion of shipbuilding processes.

Other key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement efficient production processes to improve shipbuilding timelines, reduce costs, and enhance overall quality
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction in ship construction activities to the Production Engineers.
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications
  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximise productivity and minimisewaste
  • Address and resolve engineering and production challenges by providing innovative solutions and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, manage, and inspire a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyse complex issues, propose innovative solutions, and make critical decisions under pressure
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Significant experience in shipbuilding, with a proven track record in a leadership or managerial role. Experience in production engineering or a similar capacity is highly desirable. Experience in managing large-scale projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
