Job Purpose:

We are searching for an experienced Global Automation & Innovation Manager to join our Global Contract Logistics team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the helm of developing the Automation and Innovation Program Platform, including spearheading the creation of an Automation Library web application, a vital component of the platform, and in addition, your extensive experience and understanding of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), coupled with your deep understanding of the convergence between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems, will be instrumental in driving technological advances within our logistics operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Platform Development: Drive the creation and implementation of an Automation and Innovation Program Platform, enabling teams to propose, evaluate, implement, and track automation and innovation initiatives as well as training across the global contract logistics ecosystem.
  • Automation Library Development: Lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of an Automation Library web application, serving as a central repository for automation equipment, solutions, best practices, and resources across the global contract logistics network.
  • WCS/WES Expertise: Use your hands-on experience and knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Warehouse Execution Systems (WES) to smoothly connect various automation systems with platforms such as in-house-built WMS.
  • OT and IT Systems Convergence: Use your extensive knowledge of operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems to bridge the gap between each of these fields, improving operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including solution engineers, IT, and automation experts, to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • OT Innovation and Optimization: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation within the logistics domain, and proactively propose and implement solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Project Management: Lead the entire project lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the reliability, stability, and security of applications, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Documentation: Create thorough technical documentation, including specifications, user guides, and deployment instructions, to facilitate seamless integration and knowledge transfer.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation within logistics solutions.
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values, and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven track record minimum 5 years in designing and developing platform development using modern technologies such as JavaScript, React, Angular, or similar frameworks.
  • Extensive experience with Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Warehouse Execution Systems (WES), including integration and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of the convergence between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems, with a demonstrated ability to architect solutions that leverage this convergence.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies, robotics, IIoT, and their applications within the logistics or supply chain context.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, project management tools, and version control systems.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in deploying applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Background in logistics, supply chain, or a related industry is highly advantageous.
