We have an exciting job opportunity for a level 3 Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join our Children's Centre here at Yeovil College.

The Apprentice Nursery Practitioner will work alongside the existing qualified teams to gain the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours required of the Early Years Educator L3 Apprenticeship standard. Under the guidance of a workplace mentor and the Apprenticeship Assessor, the Apprentice Nursery Practitioner will be required to ensure all children are safeguarded and their welfare and safety is promoted, providing a high standard of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children in the nursery. You will give support to other team members throughout the nursery and work as part of our fun loving team in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, learn and develop.

You will contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team members and keep records of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share these with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life. You will need to be flexible within working practices of the nursery, being prepared to help where needed, with tasks that will include the undertaking of certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. preparation of snacks, meals, cleaning equipment etc. We are proud to share with potential candidates that the Yeovil College Nursery was recently Ofsted inspected as Outstanding.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you can demonstrate the following:

  • Good general education including GCSE English and Maths, C or 4 or above.
  • Working as part of a team.
  • Organised and caring approach to work.
  • Display a child-centred approach and possess a friendly, happy and caring disposition.
  • Patience and understanding.

Hours: 37 hours a week, all year round. You must be able to work shifts within the opening hours of 8am – 6pm.

Salary: YC Trainee £12,347
