Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust is undergoing an exciting period of change, with the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital due to open in October 2024. Reporting into the Head of Logistics, the Logistics Operations Manager role will take on operational leadership and will have budget responsibility for managing a safe and efficient Logistics team at the Trust. The Logistics Operations Manager will take lead on all areas of the logistics & warehouse functions by taking ownership of goods within the supply chain once procured as well as responsibility for the introduction of the new Logistics service. The post holder will oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems that will support its optimization. Activities supported by the Logistics Operations Manager will include Waste, Linen, Post, Non-patient-facing portering activity, sterile services, receipts and distribution and transport.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organization with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Managing a busy team of Lead Leaders and Logistics Operatives.
# Providing operational oversight and advice to the Head of Logistics. Monitoring activity and providing reports as possible.
# Helping to embed a continuous improvement culture for Logistics.
# Helping to embed a new Logistics Function and Team (operating as One Logistics Team) at MMUH and throughout the retained estate.
# Ensuring that waste is managed and removed from our sites in a legal, compliant, safe and efficient manner.
# Deputizing for the Head of Logistics.

Significant experience of managing a large team, preferably within a Logistics/warehouse environment.
Evidence of working at a senior level, deputising for senior leaders and completing papers for submission at Board Level.
