Job Description

HVDC Engineer required for a major offshore wind developer based in Scotland

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the technical leadership within the HVDC package team to deliver the engineering design in line with the project engineering strategy.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the engineering design in line with the Large Capital Projects governance framework.
  • Responsible for the management of 3rd parties for the effective delivery of specific engineering and design works required within the package, and for the quality management and verification of their work and outcomes.
  • Responsible for the management of complex engineering interfaces across multiple project packages.
  • Responsible for the resolution of engineering design issues within the package, and escalation where appropriate including appropriate communication and reporting requirements to ensure visibility of risks and issues to senior management teams.
  • Responsible for the coordination of appropriate Technical Authorities for technical support and to provide independent expert opinion and approval across design reviews, key decisions, and risk reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in the design, development and implementation of HVDC systems.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to HVDC systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
