Assistant General Manager- Isleworth ( West London ) Leisure Centre
£The company was established by the London Borough of Hounslow in 2012 with the objective of trading local authority functions in order to generate financial surpluses and return those to the council. The leisure centres boast a full range of facilities including fitness studios, health suites, swimming pools, indoor & outdoor courts, pitches, tracks, and café facilities. As an Assistant General Manager at the Leisure Centre, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Isleworth leisure centre. This centre boasts two swimming pools, large gym with the latest equipment, café, health suite, outdoor courts with flood lights, two studios with sprung floors, indoor cycling, and a library. You will deputize for the General Manager, manage the day-to-day operations of the facilities and support with service delivery, commercial output and H&S safety compliance.
Responsible for day-to-day management of the leisure centre, carrying out the Duty Manager role when on a duty management shift and covering for the GM when they are off.
* Support the GM with overall process of management and corporate decision making, to ensure the centre maximises its short, medium and long-term profitability
* Drive and achieve Centre financial targets and KPIs, including customer service targets, occupancy targets, revenue targets, payroll costs and participation levels
* Support the preparation of annual service plans, financial plans and statistics
* Ensure that the centre financial targets and KPIs have been communicated to relevant managers and team members and that appropriate plans are in place to ensure targets are achieved. Targets include revenue, service, standards, occupancy, participation, payroll costs, energy management and health & safety compliance.
* Lead and develop a high performing team through effective recruitment, people management, development, retention and succession planning strategies for the Centre.
To be successful in this role, you will have previous management experience in a similar leisure centre environment, experience of recruiting, developing and managing staff, a passion for health and wellbeing and the ability to influence and motivate others. Previous management experience is essential, with a proven track record of meeting financial targets and leading a successful team. Candidates will be required to have an NPLQ, Pool Plant Operation and First Aid at Work qualification, or be willing to work towards these.
