Join Our Team as a Data Scientist at AMRICC
Are you passionate about pushing the boundaries of materials science through data-driven methods? We're seeking a talented and curious individual to join our team as a Data Scientist. In this role, you'll collaborate with materials scientists, engineers, and researchers to unlock new insights and optimize materials and product design across diverse industries, from healthcare to aerospace.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to understand problems and provide data-driven insights.
Collect, pre-process, and analyse experimental data from various materials sources.
Apply machine learning techniques to discover patterns and build predictive models for materials challenges.
Evaluate and validate the accuracy and reliability of the models and algorithms
Present and communicate the data analysis and modelling results internally and to customers using data visualisation and presentation tools.
Stay updated on the latest developments in materials informatics, machine learning, and data analysis.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in materials science, or related subject with transferable skills in data science, or a Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related subject.
Experience:
Proven experience as a data scientist or data analyst.
Proficiency in Python or R programming languages.
Experience applying machine learning to experimental data in materials science.
Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, and data visualisation libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn).
Knowledge of version control using Git.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
Agile workflow experience.
Curiosity and passion for learning and innovation.
Ability to create compelling data-driven stories for clients and stakeholders.
Proven ability to build and sustain strong client relationships.
Security Clearance: Applicants must hold or be eligible for Security Check (SC) clearance and possess a valid UK passport.
