Across our key sectors - Water, Power, Energy and Aggregates, and supported through our regional office network supported by our manufacturing hub located in the heart of Somerset which forms part of our 60,000ft head office complex - we deliver diverse and interesting projects and programmes throughout UK infrastructure.

Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

We are hiring for this permanent opportunity due to continued growth. As our business expands, the demand for our expertise grows, and we are in need of a skilled Civil Design Engineer to join us on a permanent and full-time basis.

In this role, your designs will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and efficiency of our projects. We can offer a hybrid model for this role, 3 days in the office and 2 days at home, although we offer some flexible working.

5hrs contract working Monday to Friday.

• Leading the direction of Civil/MEICA projects, pulling together support and deliverables from the wider design team, developing clarity of the overall project scope
• Producing civil and mechanical designs using project specifications, standard requirements, outline scopes of work, and/or site investigations
• Innovate, challenge, and consider continuous improvement across projects and designs
• Specification of technical plant and/or machinery to allow less technical procurement members of company to progress the ordering
• Ensuring additional works are captured. This will require liaising with project managers and commercial teams to review the impact to programme and assisting with raising compensation events
• Attending site, both during and after project, to support in any technical issues and close out information
• Relevant engineering qualification such as HNC, HND, Degree (desirable)
• Site general arrangement design, 2D and/or 3D
- Design project coordination
- Civil, mechanical, structural steelwork design
- Chemical dosing
- Water quality monitoring
- Pump sizing and pump system design
• Autodesk 2D and/or 3D CAD packages
• Using Microsoft packages
• Specific water industry-based design experience
