Part of Sensia Digital Automation Solutions, you will designs, defines and implements complex system requirements for our customers and provide internal support to Projects and Engineering departments.

This role is based in Aberdeen (UK), with travel to onshore and offshore sites both in the UK and abroad, approximately 20% of the time.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend onshore and offshore sites both in UK and abroad as required, including rota-based visits and short notice site attendance.
  • Visits will include regular healthcare, product service, installation and commissioning of Rockwell Automation/Sensia supplied equipment and systems, as well as emergency response support.
  • Requirement to provide out of hours support to clients both UK and worldwide.
  • Provide specialist system support for a range of equipment including both legacy and current Rockwell Automation products, and many 3rd party automation products.
  • Prepare all necessary paper work required prior to and post site visits, including Site Visit Report, Method Statements and Risk Assessment.
  • Provide follow up support services as part of the resolution of outstanding actions and issues, progressing to closeout.
  • Provide engineering input into new/existing projects using application and/or site knowledge to help progress project deliveries.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate with external parties’ project or support deliverables, including management of own and others time.

The Individual

  • A Degree/HND/HNC or similar qualification in a relevant engineering discipline is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in control system design, programming, and implementation.
  • Software design and support experience of PLC/HMI or DCS based control systems.
  • Knowledge of control and safety system applications, ideally in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation devices and sensors used in industrial automation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex control system issues.
