To perform a range of physiological cardiac investigations on both inpatients and outpatients across a broad age range, delivering high quality, evidence based holistic care.


To produce technical reports and analysis of investigations, working both independently and under supervision that will have a direct effect on patient care.


Preparation and monitoring of patients for complex cardiac investigations.


The Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, is the main provider of acute healthcare to the majority of Cornwall's residents and many seasonal visitors. Cardiology Services offer a comprehensive range of investigations and treatments appropriate to a large DGH.


Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.
The post-holder will be expected to understand and apply current and developing scientific techniques safely and efficiently.


Ensuring that all investigations are carried out with due regard to patient safety and well-being through achieving standards of competency and the proficient use of various equipment items.


Generation of accurate, concise and factual data and reports that directly impact on patient care and management.


Recognizing, interpreting and responding to abnormal cardiac rhythms including cardiac arrest scenarios, this to include active and direct roles in cardiac defibrillation, pacemaker support therapy and basic life support.


BSc Healthcare Science (Cardiac) or equivalent


Voluntary registration with professional body ' Academy for Healthcare Science (AHCS)
Experience in a range of cardiac physiology investigations


Previous healthcare experience
