Job Description: Instrumentation Engineer

Technical Staffing Resources (TSR) are the in-house agency and master vendor for KBR who are a leading global engineering, construction, and services company. KBR support the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents. Serving their customers through diverse business units, KBR offer challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.

The role offers hybrid working, is outside IR35 (so engagement via a UK limited company is possible), and is long term.

Experience required:

  1. Knowledge of brownfield projects.
  2. Experienced in several process & utility systems, including Control Systems, Fire & Gas, and safety systems.
  3. Knowledge of instrument and electrical equipment used in the oil industry.

Main work Tasks:

  • Review P&IDs and develop Instrument Index.
  • Developing philosophies and datasheets.
  • Produce new documentation and drawings such as Cause & Effect, loop drawing both for process, Fire & Gas, and safety systems.
  • Revise existing documentation and drawings.
  • Produce work packages for installation.
  • Review design deliverable Cable routing drawings, Hook-up, and layouts.
  • Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.
  • Order all instrument materials needed for installation.
  • Must be able to understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines.
  • Discussions with Client and vendor representatives to find optimal technical solutions.

Having working knowledge of IEC 61508 & IEC61511.
