Staff Nurse

The Treatment Room Service in Lancashire and South Cumbria Pennine are based in Blackburn and Darwen. The service sees patients who are mobile and able to travel to a Health Centre for treatment.
Treatment includes all aspects of wound care, leg ulcer management, ear irrigation, routine catheterisations, Phlebotomy, ECG's, 24 hour blood pressure monitoring and non-serious injuries. Previous experience in wound care and leg ulcer management would be desirable: however, support will be given to develop in all treatment room competencies.
The service currently runs Monday to Friday 08:30-18:00. Candidates will be expected to cover any base and sometimes this can be short notice. Candidates must be a car driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes and during working hours.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.

- 1st Level Registered Nurse
- N18 and leg ulcer management Evidence of extended roles e.g. ear irrigation, minor injuries, patient assessment Commitment to engage in continuing professional development to meet the needs of the service Compliance with regulatory bodies
- Previous experience of working within primary care/community. Mentoring of staff Knowledge of current key NHS developments.
