Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician who is a skilled individual, ideally with relevant experience in performance arts, drama, theatre, auditorium, set design, sound and lighting, and/or current multimedia technology is required for a well-established Education Trust based in Hedge End, Southampton. JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (term time only)
WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.30pm, term time only (39 weeks) Flexibility will be required when there are performance weeks/evening events
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician who is a skilled individual, ideally with relevant experience in performance arts, drama, theatre, set design, sound and lighting, and/or current multimedia technology.
Working as a Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician you will complement the current team, driving the use of new technologies and performing arts across the curriculum.
As a large secondary school with an active student technical team, the Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician will ideally have some experience working with young people/students, although this is not essential.
Your duties and responsibilities as the Performing Arts Technical Manager / Stage and Set Lead Technician will include:
~ Leading technical support for school staff and students using the school performing arts facilities including the stage and auditoriums

~ Ensuring the appropriate operation of all lighting and sound equipment for school and community performances

~ Advising and providing technical support for Community groups/individuals using the centre and other community facilities, where appropriate

~ Taking overall responsibility for the development and training of students on site as a technical crew for productions

~ Managing the inventory usage of the main hall and auditoriums

~ Providing technical support across the school as and when required

~ Monitoring the effective use of school performing arts equipment and ensuring all jobs are booked into the CA techs ticketing system
