Butterfield Signs is a 4th generation family run business that employs 120 multi-skilled, experienced personnel. We specialise in bespoke signage solutions for high-profile brands across the UK and Europe. Our design department plays a critical role in delivering precision-engineered signage using advanced manufacturing technologies.
Following continued growth, we are seeking to recruit Design Engineers to join our team based in Bradford. There will be job training, personal development and opportunities for growth and progression.
This role involves producing detailed manufacturing drawings and CNC transmissions for Laser and Router Machines using  SolidWorks and  Signlab . You will be a key member of our design team, supporting our onsite factory operations and the Sales teams client-facing visualisation needs.
Design & Drafting : Use SolidWorks and/or Signlab to create precise manufacturing drawings, including sheet metal layouts, material specifications, colours, dimensions, and Bill of Materials (BOM). Provide a 3D visual representation of products to support both the factory and clients.
CNC Transmission & Drawings : Generate DXF transmissions and flat-pack drawings which will be used for CNC machine cutting.
Job System Maintenance : Keep the in-house Microsoft Access Job System up to date, ensuring all work and transmissions are logged correctly for smooth job progression.
Project Management Support : Collaborate with Project Managers to facilitate projects from start to finish, maintaining an efficient workflow between design and production.
Prior experience in  signage manufacturing or a similar industry that utilises metal fabrication, sheet metal and Acrylics/Perspex and laminates is highly desirable but not essential.
Previous experience with  SolidWorks (or Inventor) and  Signlab  would be a major advantage. In-house product training will be provided as required.
