Highly specialist Speech and language therapist
Band 7, Part-time - 22.There is an opportunity to join the Croydon Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team, as part of the Integrated neuro therapy team.
The team provide multidisciplinary rehabilitation for people who have a neurological diagnosis. In addition to Speech and Language therapists, the team consists of Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Rehabilitation support workers and Physiotherapists.
As part of the wider speech and language therapy staffing, you would be involved with VF clinics and we also provide a FEES service.

Main duties of the job At a Highly Specialist level assess, develop and implement Speech and Language therapy for adult clients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
To employ highly specialist interventions for patients /clients and carers who have severe disability and /or terminal illness on a daily basis, and evaluate outcomes.
To provide advice and training to the others regarding the management and care of patients /clients with communication and or feeding and swallowing difficulties.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ TRAINING
Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification
Evidence of specialist neuro SLT short courses
Significant experience working as a band 6 SLT with adults who have a variety of neurological conditions including stroke
Experience working in the NHS as an SLT with adults who have a variety of neurological conditions including stroke
Experience working as an SLT with adults with neurological conditions in a Community setting
Previous Band 7 SALT experience with adults who have a variety of neurological conditions including stroke
In-depth knowledge of national guidance and policies relevant to clients with Stroke and other Neurological problems
Able to identify what attracts them to this specific post in Croydon health services trust
Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities and needs of the patients/clients and the service
