Bath Somerset, United Kingdom HyperGrowth Recruitment Full time

Jewellery Sourcing Manager – Abbott Lyon Rewarding salary + 10% Bonus + Benefits
Bath/Hybrid – Two days per week in Bath office
Full Time

We’ve teamed up with the fastest growing jewellery brand in the UK Abbott Lyon, who are now in the market to secure a Jewellery Sourcing Manager.

Abbott Lyon is already one of the fastest growing D2C brands in the UK, named on the 2023 list of 100 fastest-growing companies in the UK. Our brand has particular appeal to customers who want to buy uniquely personalised, high-quality, understated luxury jewellery and accessories for themselves or as gifts, for those moments that matter.

With a laser-sighted focus on our bullseye customer, Abbott Lyon has successfully disrupted the jewellery market and won market share from well-established competitors. With our sights firmly set on growing the business to £100M and beyond, this year’s plan sees significant investment in the talent and infrastructure required to achieve Abbott Lyon’s ambitious growth objectives.

As Sourcing Manager at Abbott Lyon, your role will be to take lead accountability for developing the QC & sourcing strategy across the business and ensuring its successful implementation. As a company that ships millions of beautifully designed and crafted products each year, this is an exciting, high impact role with a direct impact on Abbott Lyon’s overall customer experience and innovation within the product stream.

Reporting into the product team, you will be the subject expert in the business for all things product quality, ensuring our end to end processes (from product development through to post purchase support) are designed to minimise quality issues across the Supply Chain. You will work closely with our Head of Design and product team, Operations and Customer Service (to name a few), in addition to our external vendors, to ensure Quality data is embedded into our decision making processes, resulting in a reduction in the overall financial exposure relating to quality.

This role is perfectly suited to somebody with a jewellery background, collaborative and “never done” when it comes to improving processes and ways of working.

Lead Quality Strategy:

Develop the overarching Quality strategy, covering everything from website and post-purchase comms through to warranty details and manufacturing enhancements with regular competitor updates to push product improvement recommendations.
Lead the project management of Quality improvement across the business, ensuring there is ongoing focus on the top opportunity areas (e.g. plating, product design improvements) and that agreed actions are executed.
Identify process improvements both internally and across our supply base (e.g. external third party QA implementation) to minimise quality related incidences.
Ensure that the supplier manual is regularly updated
Confidently risk assess product bought and advice on appropriate chemical and physical testing to ensure the product is always safe for market.
Oversee testing budget, due diligence planning & testing proposal, bridge the product team, assigned testing house and supply base to ensure that we have an up to date record of testing.

Supplier Management and Development:

Act as the key point of contact for our supply base on all things product quality, ensuring coordinated action is taken via weekly/quarterly business reviews
Embed quality related service level agreements with our suppliers, with regular reporting to identify whether further action is required
Support our warehouse provider in their value added services function, ensuring they provide consistent, high quality personalisation as requested per customer
Identify new service providers/suppliers who can support the Abbott Lyon mission to provide products of high quality at great value for money
Work with Head of Product & Head of Planning on supplier strategy to ensure we maximise our supplier portfolio, product mix and margin.
Own the “contact rate” for Quality related messages to the Customer Service team, identifying ways to reduce this via overall Quality enhancement, with the support of Head of Design
Work closely with the Customer Services team to identify ways to improve how we support customers with warranty/quality queries, reducing the effort per ticket resolution
Collaborate with wider Marketing/Brand functions to source additional customer insight regarding product quality, and improve how we communicate about this across all channels
Data Analysis and Insight:

Analyse replacement and refund data to identify the rate of issues on a product and category level (the “defect rate”) and whether there are new products requiring attention
Analyse the financial impact of replacements and refunds relating to product quality, identifying drivers of this cost (e.g. product mix, AOV, process non-compliance) and associated improvement opportunities
Create monthly insight dashboard to show product quality trends and the commercial and customer experience impact of improvements/initiatives already live

You have experience working in a fast paced retailer, ideally with a background in jewellery
You are comfortable with the Technical components of Product Quality (e.g. manufacturing processes and product design)
You have a good understanding of compliance and quality assurance guidelines and best practices.
proven track-record translating data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
You are an exceptional communicator with strong written, verbal and presentation skills, and the ability to convey effectively complex data to diverse audiences
Rewarding base salary + 10% bonus package
~ Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with a 2 day a week presence required at the Bath HQ.
~25 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off
~ Free products plus discount for friends and family
~ Enhanced pension scheme
~ Lots of potential for career development and training
~ Private Health Insurance
~ Summer hours with an early finish every Friday in June, July and August
~ Opportunity to be a part of the fastest growing jewellery brand in the UK
