We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. Fortis is building games where players truly belong - and our first title, Twilight Towers , just hit soft launch. We’re looking for a Staff Game Engineer to help take it global. You’ll be the technical heartbeat of the Unity client - dive deep into Unity, architect clean and scalable systems, and obsess over performance. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll blend craft, architecture, and optimization, to help shape how we build at Fortis.
Profile and optimize Unity runtime performance across gameplay, rendering, and asset systems on mobile platforms
Architect scalable, data-oriented systems for ECS, animation, physics, and UI frameworks
Lead investigations into CPU, GPU, and memory bottlenecks, defining baselines and measurable performance targets
Refactor complex gameplay code for clarity, modularity, and performance
Mentor engineers in Unity performance patterns, Burst/Job System usage, and mobile optimization practices
Collaborate with design, art, and backend teams to deliver new features that meet both creative and performance goals
Contribute to the long-term Unity architecture and client scalability strategy across titles
Deep hands-on experience building and optimizing Unity (C#) game clients at scale
Expertise in mobile performance optimization, including CPU/GPU profiling, memory management, and asset streaming
Advanced proficiency in data-oriented design (ECS, DOTS) and multithreaded programming
Strong understanding of Unity rendering pipelines, Burst Compiler, and Job System
Experience shipping or maintaining mobile or cross-platform Unity titles
